The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.
Romans 16:20
It is easy in the battle of life, in the heat of turmoil and difficult circumstance, to mistake your enemy. In Christ, no man is your enemy. We are called to love the unlovable, to offer the other cheek when we are struck, to walk that extra mile. The bank manager that just refused your loan is not your enemy, nor the casting director that refuses to cast you and unlock your destiny.
You have but one enemy, one subject worthy of your disdain and anger. For this battle we fight is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces in heavenly realms. This is the fight that deserves your attention and your righteous anger. This is the battle worthy of your time and passion. And it is a battle we can and will win.
The word promises that the devil’s fate is assured and the manner of his destruction is certain. He is to be crushed, under our feet church. He is not worthy of better and he deserves nothing less. We win! But we must fight. And we must remember who and what we are contending with.
Today church our prayer focus is twofold. First, to fight the spiritual fight, to crush Satan under our feet. And second to replace our misplaced anger with those we might have called enemies, to pray for capacity to love those we might deem unlovable. Jesus is calling us higher church and a foundation of that calling is love for all mankind.
Crush the devil, love the people. The victory is ours church!
Love you
Stephen
