The hand of the Lord was on me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the Lord and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry. He asked me, “Son of man, can these bones live?”
Ezekiel 37
Can these bones live.
In the valley of circumstance the work of the Lord is fourfold. First, to bring us to a place where we can recognize the truth of our situation. We cannot change our reality if we are ignorant of it.
Notice not only does the Lord transport Ezekiel in the spirit to a place to unclutter his eyes, he walks him back and forth repeatedly leaving no room for uncertainty in his mind as to the nature of the difficulty set before him. Ignorance may be bliss but it does not hold victory.
Second, He asks the improbable question. Solutions are only available to questions arrived at. In the kingdom of God the right question is a revelation and always the place to begin.
Third, He provides the impossible answer. Not content with raising our awareness the Lord then literally presents us with the answer. Is the impossible possible? Yes!
Fourth, He commands us to speak the impossible truth he has set before us. The truth of your heart and mind and spirit is confirmed by the confession of your mouth. We must speak to our circumstance in no uncertain terms and command it to subject itself to the reality of God.
How many times church has God walked you past your circumstance of difficulty waiting for the other shoe to drop? He has questions and answers to provide, and words for you to speak. Seek the Lord today see what he would say to you and have you say. Speak to your situation! Speak to the circumstance of the people around you, the blessing of your faith is for you and all those in your world. Speak words of life into our church!
Can these bones live? Yes, yes and yes!
Rise up Church!
